Our Properties

The RAAF Veterans’ Residences Trust currently has 75 mainly one and two-bedroom unfurnished self-contained apartments located in:

• Sandringham (Melbourne)
• Sandy Bay (Hobart)
• Elizabeth Park (Adelaide)
• Campsie and Ashfield (Sydney)
• Sherwood and Chermside (Brisbane)

Apartment Features

• Each apartment is provided with a refrigerator and washing machine
• All apartments are closely collocated to public transport and facilities
• Depending on an applicant’s circumstances, the Trust may reach out to an Ex-Service Organisation to assist with providing furniture

Rental Terms

• Residents enter a Trust License (rental agreement) for a specified duration depending on their circumstances
• Rent starts at just 23% of a resident’s net income with unlimited duration of tenancy
• Maximum rent is 31% of net income for less needy residents (renewable 12-month Trust License)
• Energy expenses remain with the resident
• Water usage is covered by the Trust

Eligibility

• All veterans and/or their families may apply
• Applicants must be capable of living independently for their own safety and others in the complex
• Applicants are assessed for their capability to live sociably to ensure all residents live comfortably
• Waiting lists are currently active in a number of the complexes
